Project sketches

Thought i’d share a few images from a variety of current projects…

Early facade development, Passivhaus, Aberdeenshire.

Testing bling-tastic cladding options for a new projecting window to a house in a conservation area, Edinburgh.

Site inspections at refurbishment of a lovely steading outside Edinburgh.

Can’t believe it’s almost two months since the last post…busy, busy, busy!

All sorts of things have been going on, including: providing site inspection services for a really nice steading conversion on the edge of Edinburgh that Gaia Architects designed; giving a talk on ‘Build Tight, Ventilate Right’ for Lochaber Environmental Group at their 2013 Renewable Heat & Energy Fair in Fort William; helping SEDA get their latest magazine formatted; updating knowledge at the Scottish Lime Centre on specifying lime mortars; giving a talk for SEDA on Plummerswood passivhaus (my last project at Gaia, which I still love more than anything) at the recent-ish Passivhaus open Day on 10th November; developing designs for current projects…

The list seems endless, though, unfortunately, the days aren’t so it’s difficult to fit it all in! Thankfully there’s a good wine shop just downstairs and the owners have opened a new microbrewery and bar around the corner…

The photo? A view from the office window looking south towards the Forth Road Bridge and Pentlands (far left), giant crane building one of the aircraft carriers at Rosyth and our lovely theatre, the Alhambra.
